  • Sarah C. Crews

    Sarah C. Crews, PhD

    Arachnology Researcher

Sarah’s research focuses on terrestrial arthropods, primarily spider evolutionary biology, although I occasionally dabble with insects. I am mostly interested in flattie spiders – pretty much every aspect of their biology – and dictynoids.

  • Eric Stiner

    Eric O. Stiner

    PhD Student Researcher

Eric is currently a PhD student at the California Academy of Sciences and Open University. He researches everything from insects to mammals and he hopes his projects will further conservation biology efforts locally and in at risk ecosystems across the globe. He is also co-founder of the nonprofit conservation organization Islands & Seas which is currently based in San Juanico, Mexico, where much of his current work is based.

  • Amin Al-Jamal

    Amin Al-Jamal

    MS Student Researcher

Amin is currently a MS student at the California Academy of Sciences and San Francisco State University. His work revolves around the taxonomy and evolution of small mesh-web weaving spiders from Madagascar, Australia, and elsewhere in the southern hemisphere. He is primarily a traditional morphologist, using imaging and scientific illustration to describe species and help uncover the tremendous biodiversity of this group
